This is only a partial list of digestive disturbances that can be treated with Traditional Chinese Medicine
Over the centauries Traditional Chinese Medicine has been used to treat a number of psychological disorders. Recent research studies suggests that acupuncture can be an effective treatment for emotional disorders. In today’s stressful environment TCM can also be used to help one maintain inner calm and thereby avoid the secondary problems brought on by stress.
Insomnia is the most common sleep complaint, affecting approximately 9–15% of the general population worldwide. The recognition of insomnia as a major health problem can be traced back more than 2000 years in ancient Chinese medical texts. Generally, when treating insomnia, acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas are combined for the quickest and most effective results. Not every insomnia patient will be treated with the same herbs or acupuncture points, however. Treatment is specific to each patient and sedatives are never used. A particular combination of signs and symptoms, called a pattern, is used to determine each treatment.
